There will be many IP based job in future, if you have time then go for Cisco study and then online exam.(CCNA, CCNP,CCIE etc.)
Either – both good areas to work in.
There is more structure to the Cisco qualifications than Linux.
get both mate then you have the knowlege of both thus increasing worth etc i did
Cisco.
Linux is very good to have knowledge in and looks good on a resume but if you’re looping into a larger company choose the industry standard. Cisco uses a command prompt interface similar to Linux so it will probably be easy to pick up Linux after some significat Cisco training.
I would say linux. An old lecture at my university was the top linux man.He got headhunted by Nationwide to look after there atm servers for the whole UK.That required someone with unix skills.Nationwide offered him starting salary of £115,000.Not bad if you know linux/unix.
Because linux isn’t such a common operating system, that means that theres fewer people with linux administration skills.Thats also not to say the same for cisco aswell.
Mate, if you want to be the top dog in computing then why don’t you do a cisco and linux course.I think that will make you stand out more on your cv.
