What is the current and future status of engineering in the U.S?

future firm
Charlie4590 asked:

I’m an engineering student at a top school in engineering in the U.S. (top 20) and it seems that even still, it is hard for engineering students here to get engineering-related jobs like internships. I talked to a recent graduate in aerospace engineering who couldn’t find a job in the engineering despite a pretty decent 3.2 GPA. It seems like engineering firms are only looking at the very brightest to hire. Is it that hard to find a job in this sector?

    I don’t know about aerospace.
I work with natural gas and they are always looking for engineers. Same with oil.
I have friends with environmental engineer degrees who don’t have problems finding work either.

the eng. status just ***** , it’s always hard for a fresh graduate to catch a good job , but when u are older in the field , life is better , but for CE it’s not that good , i don’t know about aerospace ….certainly if u catch lockeed martin or mcdonnel douglas , u’ll be lucly.

P.S if life is dark with u try to join any consulting office for a while , they will reFound u well
