karin asked:
is the biggest law firm here, and I can’t be happier. However, I had also given my CV to other law firms, and one of which called me today telling me I had an interview tomorrow.
I know that I do NOT wanna go! Should I go even though if I get accepted I wouldn’t wanna go there?
Another thing is, I dont wanna lose them as potential future hiring place. Meaning that, I’m afraid if I tell them NO now, and later on for any reason I wish to go there, they will refuse on grounds that I rejected them before.
Can this latter thing happen or am I being paranoid?
If it makes any difference, I’m not in the USA.

It woul dprobably be good to go for the experience and at least you will have a contact at that firm should something go wrong with the other one, if they offer you the position simply tell them that you took the other opportunity but enjoyed the experience and may oneday like to work with their firm
I believe you should absolutely make the appointment for the interview at the surprise firm. Building and diversifying your network of attorneys and firms that you know is easier if you are “out there” in the community and making contacts.
Plus, one firm might offer a great deal more in money, benefits, or opportunity than the other. Bottom line-the more interviews you go through the better prepared you will be to make a good decision.
Happy lawyering!
