Is shoplifting going to affect a person’s future jobs?

My best friend called me yesterday and told me that she was caught by store securty while putting bath-salt packs into her purse…she is very worried that this offense is going to affect her future job applying and limits her opportunity since she’s going to grauduate from a very good college soon! I don’t know what to tell her?! can anybody help?

    Tell her she will have to list the convictions on her applications that ask.

    I guess this “good college” didn’t teach her any ethics or morals.

    If she quits being a criminal, her life will not be so complicated.

    Of course it will affect her. Who wants to employ a thief?

    How old was she? If she is convicted as an adult, it will show up on background checks.

    If she fights the case and wins, or gets a “youthful offender treatment” or the court decides to drop the case as they do with petty, first arrests, then she is home free.

    “she’s going to grauduate from a very good college soon”
    So much for all those pro-college PSA’s.
