I’m a Malaysian Chinese that study at Australia university in finance major n will graduate after this semester. As the pursuit of MBA in US in near future, i’m hoping to gain some entry experience from finance/investment related field in US. Does anyone know what r the best way to do it? As i participated in ‘work n travel’ in US b4 and under sponsor program, gaining a J-1 visa is not an issue for me, but are there any investment bank/firm(major or minor) willing to accept J-1 visa employee?
Or what are the chances of gaining a working visa under my background(ha, never…)? Kindly listen to any advice, thanks!

Most U.S. companies can’t hire you as an intern unless you are a student at a U.S. university. The problem is legal – the only way they can get away without paying you is to ensure that you are receiving course credit from a university which can take legal responsibility if anything goes wrong. They can’t pay you if you are not here on a visa which allows you to work. Your best bet is to be part of a program in which the program itself pays you in your own country for work done in the U.S.
