No, when recruiters tell you they’re putting your application on file, that file is the shredder. Sorry, but my mom is a recruitment manager, and she told me it’s a polite way of telling you you didn’t get the job. I would move on and look for other opportunities.
I was put on their waiting list when i applied in 1977 (bit far back i know) lol but about 6 months later they got in touch with a job. Had to go through two weeks training before it was confirmed
I went to a Royal Mail interview about 5 years ago and the they said the same to me. I first got called back as a Christmas casual and then called back for a PT job (30hours though this can be different from office to office) the following February so about 8 weeks later. I am still working for them 5 years later.
My advice is don’t wait for the call see if you can get a job in the meantime but if you passed the assessment I think you have a better chance than those who apply on the off chance. Good luck, its a hard job but can be very rewarding.
