Can a future employee end the “at-will” contract even before joining the firm in the state of Texas?

future firm
Simran asked:

I have got this job offer from Texas which is an “at-will” contract. Now I am expecting more better offers to come in next week. However, this employer wants me to make a decision on the offer within this week. Is it possible that even after signing the offer letter I can choose not to join that firm, just because I am getting a better offer elsewhere?

An “at-will” agreement means just that….You’re employed at will meaning you can leave at will. If you take the offer…do not sign any non-compete forms…those are the ones that will get you…..Yes…you can accept the offer, and still change your mind….
