I have applied for voluntary redundancy. Firm says I can’t rescind once letter signed, but they can?
Hey,
I have to calculate the ‘Current Market Value’ of a firm, and i’m only given this data:
Annual net free cash flows are $365000.
Risk-free interest rate is 6.25%pa.
Total book value of assets of $3.1m.
Standard deviation of firms stock return is 27%.
Cost of capital of 16% per year.
Shareholders represent a total of at least 55% of the equity.
Future Value of $1 invested in a similar firm with similar risk: $1.20 in good economy, $0.85 in bad economy.
Other company take over bid offer: $11m
My problem is, i thought Current Market Value = (Share Price * Number of Shares) + Debt. I think Debt is the book value of 3.1m, but i cant seem to find the price of the shares or how many there are to calculate the equity… Am i on the right track, or have i missed the point completly…? any help would be greatly appreciated.
Cheers
Richie
Having invested in stocks for quite sometime, I am thinking to get into the commodity trading world. As a beginner in futures and options on futures, I would like to seek advice on the names of brokerage firms for such investment. I wonder what are the most popular online commodity brokerage firms (like TDAmeritrade for stocks) for setting up “self-directed” accounts with reasonable commissions, fees and requirements for opening accounts. Many thanks.

I would really like to become a lawyer but am not sure if I should or not. I am a single parent and would love to be able to have my own practice where I could set my own hours and be home for him after school. I am not sure how many hours you are required to work in a law firm but I hear it is a lot. I have taken some law classes and have found that I really like contracts, estate, and real estate. If I focused on one of these areas could I get a “regular” 8 hour day job as a lawyer in these fields? How much demand is there for a real estate lawyer? If you know of a better area to practice in I am open to suggestion. Thanks.
Ok, around a month ago i applied for a job that i really want. I receieved an interview, everything went great. I was told at that time that i passed the interview, but that they already have taken in all the people they need for this time. That if i had came in a few weeks earlier i could have started right away. They told me they were putting my name and info in what they called a “job pool or job bank” i forget exactly how they worded it. They told me i could get a call from them to start a week from then, or then again it could be a few months down the road. They just couldnt give me a firm date due to the nature of the way their hiring is done.
I contacted them around 2-3 weeks ago, got the same basic info. I want to give them a call again today, but i dont want to seem too pushy. How can i word this when i call?
Should i say
“I was curious if i am still being considered for possible employment in the future”.
I know this is a long post, im just uncertain on what to say.
I’m an engineering student at a top school in engineering in the U.S. (top 20) and it seems that even still, it is hard for engineering students here to get engineering-related jobs like internships. I talked to a recent graduate in aerospace engineering who couldn’t find a job in the engineering despite a pretty decent 3.2 GPA. It seems like engineering firms are only looking at the very brightest to hire. Is it that hard to find a job in this sector?
I am looking for a firm or an out sourcing company to book people for appointments or meetings for me at a commission only basis. I pay great commission but the companies I have spoke to don`t even want to look at my proposal all they want is to get paid . I want someone to get me results and possibly in the future we can set up a plan based on the results that I am getting.I
